In May 2023, Davey Textile Solutions Inc. (DTS) committed to the Government of Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge. The Net-Zero Challenge was developed by the federal government to encourage Canadian companies to develop and implement plans to transition their facilities to net-zero emissions by 2050. To participate in the challenge, organizations must:
• Set a net-zero emissions target for 2050 or earlier.
• Complete a Preliminary Participation Checklist within 12 months of joining.
• Complete a Comprehensive Participation Checklist within 24 months of joining.
• Set at least two interim reduction targets.
• Report on progress annually.
• Review and update net zero plans every five years.
• Conduct and make public climate-related financial disclosures (SMEs exempt).
We enthusiastically committed to the Net Zero Challenge as it aligns with our ambitions of reducing our carbon footprint and reflects our overall ambitions of being a leader in environmentally sustainable manufacturing.
As part of our commitment requirements, we will develop a comprehensive net-zero plan over the next two years and set interim emission reduction targets to measure our goal progress.
We’re proud to join over 100 businesses across Canada leading the way in sustainability!
